The 4th annual Annie D. Jones Child Enrichment Fund 3k Walk was held on Saturday, April 27th.
A total of 35 participates walked the Greenway at Smithfield Community Park raising $1,200 to fund scholarships for disadvantaged children in the East Smithfield Community to attend summer camp and other recreational and cultural activities.
The Annie D. Jones Child Enrichment Fund is a nonprofit organization designed to provide opportunities for disadvantaged children to attend diverse enrichment activities.
Children have participated in summer camps and other recreational and cultural activities sponsored by Smithfield Parks and Recreation, Morgan’s Gymnastics, Artistry In Motion, Neuse Little Theatre’s Drama Summer Program, and private piano lessons taught by Mary Ann Morgan Warren.
