$130,000 In Construction Equipment Stolen From Job Site

A theft from a construction site near Smithfield is under investigation.  The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office said the theft happened on Crantock Road between 11:00pm Monday and 8:30am Tuesday.

Someone stole a Bobcat excavator, Bobcat skid steer, Steco dump trailer, EX trailer, and two dozer root rakes. Combined the items were worth $130,000.

The equipment was owned by Spangler Site Work of Smithfield.  At last report the stolen equipment had not been recovered.
