15 Year-Old Stabs Father During Family Dispute, Police Say

A Smithfield man is recovering from a serious knife wound after being stabbed during a dispute with his son.  The incident happened around 3:00pm Tuesday on Daughtry Street.

Smithfield Police Chief Keith Powell said the 44 year-old victim was stabbed in the chest with a pocket knife by his 15 year-old son.  The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment.

Chief Powell said the incident still remains under investigation. At last report, no charges had been filed.
