The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of nearly $19,000 in lawn and landscaping equipment take during two break-ins reported Wednesday morning.
A break-in was discovered around 7:45 am in the 200 block of Parker Road outside of Four Oaks. The homeowner said someone broke into his home stealing $4,960 in property including 8 weed eaters, 3 backpack blowers, 4 chainsaws, and other equipment.
Around 9:00 am, a break-in was reported at GXI, located at 7868 US 70 Business Highway West, in Clayton. Four new Beast zero turn mowers were stolen from a trailer parked at a loading dock. Thieves apparently cut a lock on the trailer to take the four mowers, which had a combined value of $14,000.
