Law enforcement officers are investigating a report of a home invasion where the only item taken was two soft drinks.
The alleged incident occurred around 1:30 AM Monday on Lee Drive, off Cornwallis Road, but wasn’t reported until several hours later.
The victim told deputies she was asleep on a couch inside a friend’s mobile home when she heard a man enter through a back door. After the suspect left the only items missing were two 2 liter Sprite. The victim also told officers bells normally hang from the back door knob. Upon closer examination, the bells had been removed from the door knob and placed elsewhere.
The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office detectives division is investigating the incident and also looking for a suspicious person possibly seen in the neighborhood hours before the alleged incident.
