The Town of Selma has signed off a request to add another tank at the Selma Oil Terminals on Buffalo Road off Highway 70.

Blanchard Terminal Company won approval this month to placed a 95,000 barrel tank to store ethanol at the Marathon Facility at 3707 Buffalo Road. The tank, which will have a floating roof, will be capable of storing 3,990,000 gallons of ethanol.

The company has obtained all local, regional and state permits necessary to construct the tank, which will be placed within an existing overspill containment area, and adjacent to 5 other storage tanks that are currently in operation at the site.

The Selma Fire Department said the tank met all of their safety requirements.  On May 10th, the Selma Town Council unanimously approved the request.
