Two adults and two children were injured in a head on collision Monday morning on Highway 301 between Selma and Micro.
Two cars collided head-on, sending one vehicle into the ditch. The driver of the car that landed in the ditch was trapped inside and had to be cut free by firefighters. The female driver suffered broken bones and underwent emergency surgery in the hospital.
A female driver and two children in the other vehicle were also injured, including a 2 year-old child who was being monitoring in the intensive care unit for a head wound.
The NC Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. Troopers tell WTSB none of the injuries appear to be life threatening.
