LILLINGTON – Four people were injured in a violent collision between a car and pickup truck Tuesday afternoon in Harnett County.
The crash was reported around 2:00pm on Sheriff Johnson Road near Lillington.
One occupant was pinned in the wreckage 30 minutes while a second victim was pinned for nearly an hour. Due to the lengthy extrication time, a Life Flight helicopter responded to the scene and airlifted the two patients to a trauma center.
Two others were taken by ambulance to Wake Medical Center in Raleigh. All four people sustained serious injuries.
Sheriff Johnson Road was closed for several hours between Tysinger Road and Johnson Farm Road.
The NC Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.
