A new subdivision approved earlier this year by Clayton leaders has now been annexed into the city limits. The Clayton Town Council gave their approval this week to a request by Umstead Partner LLC to annex 18.59 acres it owns on Amelia Church Road. The land is located between the Coxwoods and Wynston neighborhoods.
In July, the council approved a site plan and rezoning for Umstead Partners to develop 42 single family homes on the property. Once built, motorists can access the new development through a main entrance on Gregory Drive, located off Amelia Church Road. Seven houses will have access on Dayflower Drive, located to the north in the Wynston subdivision.
