Johnston County Commissioners have approved a $5,833,660 project to improve the sewer system in the McGee’s Crossroads area.
The project includes 2,000 linear feet of 8 inch and 16 inch sewer lines, 9,000 linear feet of 27″ gravity sewer main, and a 1,000 gallon per minute wastewater pump station. Funds are also included to upgrade the existing McGee’s Crossroads wastewater pump station.
The improvements will allow for additional wastewater capacity at McGee’s Crossroads and additional capacity in existing infrastructure in portions of the Cleveland area. The upgrades are part of $333.2 million in improvements identified in September 2017 as part of a 20 Year Capital Improvement Plan for the Johnston County Department of Public Utilities.
