KENLY – Kenly Police are investigating a two vehicle accident that sent five people to the hospital, all with serious injuries. Police Chief Josh Gibson said the t-bone accident was reported at 5:05pm Sunday.
Chief Gibson said a 2015 Kia was traveling on Scott Road when the driver, Destiny Creech, age 23, of Goldsboro, failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection of NC Highway 222 East.
The Kia t-boned the side of a 2009 Chevrolet pickup, traveling eastbound on Highway 222, driven by Julian Aycock, age 69, of Fremont.
Ms. Creech and two passengers in the Kia, Charles Faircloth, age 25, of Goldsboro and Danielle Gibbs, age 29, of Middlesex were seriously injured.
Mr. Aycock and his wife, a front seat passenger in the Chevrolet, Deborah Aycock, age 71, of Fremont also sustained serious injuries.
All five victims were transported by Johnston County EMS to area hospitals.
Chief Gibson said speed nor alcohol were contributing factors. The Kenly Police Department is continuing their investigation into the crash.
The Kenly Fire Department responded to the scene.
