51st Annual Selma Railroad Days Festival Set For Oct. 2–3

SELMA, N.C. – Downtown Selma will come alive Oct. 2–3 as the town celebrates the 51st Annual Selma Railroad Days Festival.

The two-day event will feature live music, train displays, food, vendors, family activities, a classic car show and the annual Railroad Days Parade.

Festivities begin Friday, Oct. 2, with model train shows opening at 1 p.m. at the Selma Civic Center and Selma Union Depot.

The Selma Fire Department will hold its annual BBQ Cook-Off beginning at 5 p.m., followed by food trucks at 6 p.m.

The TAMS will perform on the Main Stage beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Activities resume early Saturday, Oct. 3, with the Selma Cyclepaths Ride at 7:30 a.m.

Train shows at the Selma Civic Center and Selma Union Depot will reopen at 9 a.m., followed by food trucks and festival vendors throughout downtown beginning at 10 a.m.

The 51st Annual Selma Railroad Days Parade will step off at 10:30 a.m.

Kidz Corner, trackless train rides and the Classic Car Show will all begin at noon.

The Community Stage will feature local entertainment from noon until 3 p.m., followed by Gimme Back My Skynyrd from 3 to 5 p.m.

Saturday evening entertainment on the Main Stage will include Rev-On – The Foreigner Experience from 7 to 8 p.m., followed by Arrival – The Music of Journey from 8 to 9 p.m.

The festival is held each year to celebrate Selma’s railroad heritage while bringing together residents, visitors, businesses and community groups.
