Shoplifters made away with nearly $2,000 worth of clothing items at two Smithfield businesses.
Around 2:30PM Tuesday, four suspects went to Polo Ralph Lauren on Outlet Center Drive, grabbed numerous items, then ran out the door without paying. Smithfield Police said pants, coats, shirts and hoodies valued at $965.42 were taken.
Around 3:00PM Tuesday, police were called to the Nike Factory Store on Outlet Center Drive. Two suspects shoplifted shoes, pants, and jackets valued at $999.93 then ran out the front door without paying.
Police said it doesn’t appear the two shoplifting incidents are connected. Officers are still investigating both cases.
