A total of 64 townhouses will be built in the Clayton city limits. The Clayton Town Council has signed off on a request to allow Sam’s Branch LLC of Garner to develop 64 townhouse units on 7 acres of land on City Road next to Clayton Parks & Recreation’s Legend park.
Plans call for 9 buildings with each unit on its own lot and no main clubhouse. The property is on both side of City Road.
The land on the western side of City Road will not have any townhouses but will be used as open space. The land was needed to meet the minimum open space requirements for the development.
Once completed, the townhouses can be accessed from a paved street off City Road that will also serve as the entrance to Legend Park. Currently, the park has an unpaved, gravel entrance.
160 parking spaces will be included, more than the 114 required for a complex this size.
