A report from the Johnston County Planning Department shows 75 new subdivisions have been approved as of May 31, 2018.
16 major subdivisions and 59 minor subdivisions have been approved by the county this year.
The 16 major subdivisions represent 559 building lots on 660.32 acres of land. The 59 minor subdivisions total 103 lots on 231.75 acres. Combined that’s 662 new building lots in 2018.
According to the report, 4 additional major subdivisions are in the planning stages with county zoning officials. They represent an additional 238 lots on 241.83 acres.
A total of 11,473 subdivision lots are currently approved by the County of Johnston but have not been developed. 96 lots were removed in May after not being developed or recorded on time.
