7 Drunk Driving Arrests Made At DWI Checking Station
A multi-agency DWI Checking Station resulted in the arrests of seven drunk driving suspects. Saturday night, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, NC Highway Patrol and Pikeville Police conducted a checking station on Highway 13 North at Tommy’s Road.
Nine others were charged with driving without a license, 3 for driving on a revoked license, 4 for registration violations, and 1 for a child safety seat violation.
One wanted person was apprehended. Ten misdemeanor and 1 felony drug arrests were also made.
The Mobile Breath Alcohol Testing unit or BAT Mobile was used. The unit has several breath testing instruments on site as well as a magistrate. All offenders arrested were transported to the Wayne County Jail after going before the magistrate.
