Johnston County Schools has selected Pet Dairy to provide milk at all school campuses during the 2019-2020 school year.
Two bids were received for the dairy contract. Pet Dairy submitted the lowest bid of $736,993. Marva Maid Maola Dairy submitted a bid of $789,477.
Under the contract, the school system can extended the bid an additional three years if both parties agree and all requirements are met. The bid contains all dairy products used in compliance with government regulations for school meals.
Under the contract, the school system will pay 22.5 cents per carton of chocolate, vanilla or strawberry skim milk, 20.3 cents per carton for plain skim milk, and 62.5 cents per carton of lactose free plain milk.
