8th Grader Wins “I Voted Early” Election Sticker Contest

SMITHFIELD – The Johnston County Board of Elections has announced the winner of the “I Voted Early” sticker contest. The student with the most votes was Carson McCauley, an eighth grader from Meadow Middle School.

In addition to the words “I Voted Early,” his design includes the state flag of North Carolina combined with elements of the American flag. Carson received a $100 cash prize after showing off his unique design at the Board of Elections’ office.

The Board of Elections had a fantastic response from the community with a diverse range of creative entries that truly demonstrated Johnston County’s artistic talent.

Be on the lookout for Carson’s sticker design adorning voters very soon. Early voting for the primaries begins on February 15, 2024 and the primary will take place on March 5, 2024.

  1. CONGRATS!!!. I heard the democrats had a lot of submissions for “ I voted often”!! sticker. Can’t wait to see who wins.

  2. I like it, but couldn’t the “blend” or tear away have been in the shape of NC instead of more like South America, Michigian, Minnesota, or Illinois? Needs a final tweak.

Props to the kid. Good job.

      • Maybe he should be able. He has as much to gain/lose as anyone and probably has just as much intelligence as the average voter. Look at where we are now. Two worthless candidates are poised to be president. These two are the average voters best choices? Give me a break. A man child who throws temper tantrums and a grandpa with dementia.

  3. More indoctrination having our kids buy into the Early voting when it’s just a way for the establishment to determine how many more votes they need on Election Day to win.
