Johnston County authorities are searching for two men who assaulted and robbery an elderly man outside his home on Tuesday.
The victim had returned to his home around 11:00am on Strickland’s Crossroads Road outside of Four Oaks and noticed two men were in his yard. One of the men grabbed and assaulted the elderly victim and then both suspects robbed him of an undisclosed amount of cash.
The 91 year-old man sustained minor injuries. He was treated at the scene by paramedics with Johnston County EMS but declined transport to the hospital.
The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a black male in his 50’s, 5 foot 11, 200 pounds wearing dark clothing. The second suspect is a white male, 5 foot 6, 150 pounds, unknown age, wearing a toboggan. The victim was unable to provide any additional clothing description.
This marks the second time in two years the victim has been robbed at his home. Authorities don’t believe the two crimes are related.
