Some residents in the Benson area were unable to dial 911 Thursday night. The outage occurred for about a hour. Service was fully restored before midnight.
Century Link customers were temporarily unable to dial 911 while the phone company was “doing some reconfiguration programming” at the Benson facility, according to Johnston County 911 Director Jason Barbour.
Cell phone service was not affected and customers with other phone companies were not impacted.
