April was a good month for the construction industry in Johnston County.
A total of 95 new single family home permits were issued, according to the Johnston County Inspections Department, up from 85 in April 2014.
For the first four months of 2015, 340 new single family home permits have been issued, up from 293 during the same time period in 2014, an increase of 12 percent.
Last month, 8 commercial construction permits valued at $1.71 million were issued compared to 5 worth $1.31 million in April 2014.
Also in April, 4 doublewide, 10 singlewide and 2 modular home permits were approved.
The inspections department collected $183,804.30 in fees last month, up from $121,264.70 a year earlier.
3156 inspections passed in April and 919 failed, according to county officials.
