SELMA – “A sheet of ice!” That’s what the driver of this overturned truck loaded with bread said about the road conditions, Thursday morning. “I should have stayed home,” he added.

The accident happened on Buffalo Road near Selma around 10:00am.

A large tractor trailer was stuck on the road less than a mile away. No injuries were reported in either accident.

The Highway Patrol later requested that NCDOT shut down that part of Buffalo Road.

  1. Wow, that looks terrifying! I can’t imagine how stressful it must have been for the driver. Roads in Buffalo can turn into pure ice in no time. I always try to be extra cautious, but sometimes there’s just no way to avoid slipping. Hope everyone involved is okay!

  2. Yep – everyone got their bread already anyway! Poor fella – just trying to do his job. But, dang, y’all stay off the roads.

  3. God bless you my dear for trying to get out there despite conditions to provide for yourself and your family. I don’t know you but I do know I am happy God was with you during this accident. I pray afterwards you made it home safely and are warm. 🙏

  4. I had an easier time driving through the snow in Ohio than I did here this weekend….And i couldn’t see four feet in front of my windshield there. Whatever they’re doing to prep for our roads is utterly useless.
