Two students and the driver of a passenger car were transported to the hospital with minor injuries following an accident involving a Johnston County school bus.
The accident was reported Wednesday afternoon on Jack Road near Vi Lane.
A small black Ford passenger car and school bus from Cleveland High School collided at the intersection. A total of 18 students were on the bus headed home at the time of the wreck. The Ford’s driver and two students on bus 614 were taken to Johnston Medical Center in Clayton for treatment.
The car sustained heavy damage. The bus suffered a bent bumper. The NC Highway Patrol is investigating.
In an unrelated mishap, Bus 235 from Smithfield Selma High School was involved in a minor accident on Oak Street in Smithfield Wednesday afternoon. 19 students were on board. No injuries were reported.
