Accidents And Downed Trees Reported During Storms
The State Highway Patrol reported multiple accidents Saturday evening across Johnston County as storms moved through the area.
One accident occurred on NC Highway 42 East at Motorcycle Road and another on Castleberry Road.

Both accidents sent injured occupants to area hospitals.
NC Highway 42 between Thanksgiving Fire Road and NC Highway 96 was completely shut down after a large oak tree fell across the highway.
Northside Fire and NCDOT workers worked to clear the debris while the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office detoured traffic. The roadway was reopened about 90 minutes later.
