Accidents Cause Delays

Two separate accidents Wednesday morning caused delays for drivers on Cleveland Road in Johnston County.

The first accident happened at 8:12am in the 10500 block of Cleveland Road. The wreck knocked down a utility pole closing the roadway for several hours until Duke Energy crews could replace the pole and power lines.  The NC Department of Transportation assisted with the traffic detour. No one was transported to the hospital.

At 10:26am, a green SUV overturned in the 3000 block of Cleveland Road near Swift Creek Road.  The Wilson’s Mills Fire Department and Johnston County EMS responded to the scene. The driver was checked out by paramedics but was not transported to the hospital.

Both accidents remain under investigation by the NC Highway Patrol.
