A western Johnston County man said he was robbed at gunpoint while trying to buy marijuana.
The 35 year-old man reported the robbery moments after it occurred Saturday afternoon in the parking lot of a Cleveland-area store.
The victim said he met his marijuana dealer to purchase more marijuana. When he arrived the suspect reportedly pulled out a gun, robbed the victim of $80 in cash, then broke his cell phone before fleeing.
The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident. No injuries were reported.
The robbery is unrelated to two other incidents last month.
On December 3rd, a 16 year-old Clayton teen said he was given the name of an individual who could sell him marijuana. After meeting the person, the teen said he became afraid and pulled out a gun. The suspect took the weapon away from the teen, and at gunpoint robbed the victim of his money and shot him in the shoe as he fled. Miraculously the bullet did not strike his foot.
On December 1st, a 17 year-old Kenly teen said he was robbed in Micro while trying to buy marijuana. The suspect implied he had a gun, punched the victim in the face and stole his cell phone.
