Apprentice Information Sessions Are Jan. 29 And Feb. 4

Program provides on-the-job training for applied engineering and electrical students.

The Johnston County Apprenticeship Program (JCAP) will host two information sessions in January and February for students to learn more about the program and how to apply to be apprentices.

JCAP provides on-the-job training at participating companies for Johnston Community College applied engineering degree and electrical certificate students. Industry partners are Studio TK, Novo Nordisk, Grifols, Caterpillar, Global Skyware, House Autry Mills, Sysco, OPW, Natvar, Berry Global, and PCX Corporation.

Benefits of the apprenticeship program include:

  • College tuition and registration fees paid by the State of NC
  • A North Carolina and Department of Labor Journeyman Certificate / Associate Degree provided upon completion of the apprenticeship
  • Potential employment opportunities available upon completion

Information sessions will be held at 7 p.m. Jan. 29 and Feb. 4 at the Johnston County Workforce Development Center in Clayton. Interested students should register at http://www.johnstoncc.edu/jcap/interestform.aspx.
