Mayor Mike Gordon called for a closed session at the start of their regular monthly meeting to discuss the personnel matter with council members and select a replacement. After a short recess, the board reconvened and announced Lisa Barnes as Overton’s successor.
Overton was the town’s first clerk and full-time employee and had served in that capacity since 2010. No reason was given for her departure.
Lisa Barnes is a fifth generation Archer Lodge resident and has been the secretary for the town’s Community Center for nearly 20 years. Her husband, Jeff, is a former town council member.
