A Smithfield man is accused of stealing $1,617 in construction materials from a new home construction site in western Johnston County.
The theft was reported on January 12th by Scott Lee Holmes. Plywood and 2×4’s were removed from a jobsite on Lantern Ridge Drive between Jan. 6th and Jan. 12th.
Nelson Laverne Gilmore, 68, of the 300 block of Wilson’s Mills Road, Smithfield was charged with four felonies: possession/receiving stolen property from a construction site, conspiracy and two counts of larceny. Bail was set at $41,000.
