The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest in connection with a bomb threat phoned in Tuesday morning at Corinth Holders High School.  The call was later determined to be a hoax.

As a precaution, the high school was briefly evacuated to allow law enforcement officers to search the campus.

While deputies were on the scene searching the school building, authorities said the suspect placed a call to the sheriff’s office claiming he was watching them. Later that day, detectives located and charged a juvenile suspect with the incident. Because of their age, no further information was released.

  1. It is (way past) time to start holding parents accountable for their minor children. Until parents are held responsible (legally, financially, etc) for the actions of their children, nothing will change. Obviously these parents were unwilling/unable/uncaring to teach the child correct moral values. Holding the parents responsible is the only sensible recourse.

    • I don’t completely agree with you but I do think juveniles need to be held more accountable and consequences need to be imposed instead of a “slap on the wrist”. I think parents should be held accountable if it’s obvious they have been negligent or choose not to address discipline properly in the home. I don’t think one solution will fit every child/family, especially with mental health being such an issue.

    • I like that idea… Even if the fine is higher.. THEN these trophy participation parents will start being parents and holding their kids accountable before these things happen.
