Arrest Made In Pedestrian Hit And Run

Benson Police announced today an arrest in a pedestrian hit and run accident.

Shebrail Frasier, 44, with addresses in Selma and Benson, was arrested on Wednesday by the Erwin Police Department on Benson Police warrants. Frasier was charged with felony hit and run. She was placed in the Harnett County Detention Center under a $10,000 secured bond.

Last Saturday night, Frasier is accused of striking Travis Glenn McDougald of Benson while he was on Chicopee Road.  Police said the incident appeared to have been an intentional act.  McDougald remains hospitalized with numerous injuries and has a long recovery process ahead.

“We are grateful for the phone calls and messages that helped us piece together what took place last Saturday night,” said Benson Police Chief Greg Percy.  “I know that Mr. McDougald and his family are very thankful for the public’s concern and assistance and so are we.”

The investigation remains ongoing and additional charges may be possible.
