Sheriff’s deputies have arrested one of two suspects they say was involved in the robbery and stabbing of a Clayton teenager who was riding a skateboard in front of his home last week.
The 16 year-old was riding his skateboard on Skylar Lane, off Lee Road, last Thursday when he said two suspects in a black Mercedes stopped. One of the men pulled out a gun and demanded his money and cell phone. The second male suspect produced a knife and stabbed him twice in the back.
Darrain Khalil Robinson, 21, of the 200 block of Barbour Road in Smithfield was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, and conspiracy to commit robbery. Robinson was given a $140,000 bond.
At last report, the victim was still hospitalized at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh.
The search for the second suspect is still continuing.
