ATF Offers Reward In Smithfield Business Fire

Fire RCityThe Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), has announced a reward up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the fire set last year at a Smithfield business.

On October 28th, 2014, a fire occurred at the R City Bar and Grill, located at 388-A Venture Drive.  An examination of the fire scene revealed that the fire was incendiary in nature.

Video surveillance showed two unidentified black male suspects entered the business and appeared to pour a liquid substance inside the premises.  Additionally, the video showed an unidentified white female and black male visited the business a few hours prior to the black males starting the fire.

Damage to the building and its contents was placed in excess of $100,000.

The crime is being investigated by ATF, Smithfield Police Department and the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office.
