Attempted Murder Suspect Facing New Charges For Incident In Jail

lomax-montgomery-mugsA man awaiting trial on attempted murder charges is in more trouble.  Kelvin Cornelius Lomax, 23, of Selma has been in custody since June 20th when he and his brother, Kareem Alexander Lomax, were charged with shooting into a vehicle on South Raiford Street in Selma injuring 27 year-old Brendon Markis Davis.

Davis was seriously injured but survived.

Kelvin Lomax and a second inmate in the Johnston County Jail, Dyshawn Montgomery, 24, of Smithfield, were reportedly caught with marijuana in their possession on Wednesday. They were both subsequently charged with possession of a controlled substance in jail, a felony offense.

Montgomery has been in custody since September 5th when he was arrested by Selma Police on several charges including domestic assault, assault on a government officials and possession of marijuana.
