Jack O’Hale Named One Of NC’s 2022 Legal Elite

SMITHFIELD – Business North Carolina magazine has named Johnston County Attorney John (“Jack”) P. O’Hale as one of North Carolina’s 2022 Legal Elite in the field of criminal defense.  The rankings are decided through peer nomination and research by a third party specializing in data collection and verification. 

Mr. O’Hale is a 1975 graduate of the UNC School of Law and is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court; the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals; the United States District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina; and the General Court of Justice for the State of North Carolina. 

Mr. O’Hale is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and, since 1995, has consistently been recognized as one of the Best Lawyers in America.   Jack O’Hale has been Board Certified in state and federal criminal law since 1993 and, for the past 6 years, has been nationally ranked by the National Academy of Criminal Defense Lawyers.

In January of 2020, the North Carolina Bar Association presented Mr. O’Hale with the Wade M. Smith Award.  According to the NCBA, the Wade M. Smith Award is given to a criminal defense attorney “who exemplifies the highest ideals of the profession.” 

Mr. O’Hale has more than 46 years of experience representing individuals and businesses in criminal and civil cases across North Carolina and throughout the United States.
