An ATV accident sent one person to the hospital on Sunday. The accident happened on private farmland in the 700 block of Juniper Church Road near Four Oaks.
The accident happened just before 2:00pm. Witnesses said 20 year-old Maria Olivers of Four Oaks was riding an ATV when it struck a ditch, ejecting the operator who landed in a barbed wire fence.
Olivers was transported by ambulance to Johnston Medical Center in Smithfield where she received several stitches to close a laceration. No charges were filed.
