Back To School Supplies Being Collected For Needy Children

The Benson Ministerial Association and the Education Committee of the Benson Area Chamber of Commerce are collecting back to school supplies.

The supplies are for children in need who attend schools in the South Johnston attendance area or private or charter schools and live in the Benson-Four Oaks-Meadow area.

If you would like to make donations of school supplies they may be dropped off now through Wednesday, August 9 at the Benson Chamber office at 122 E. Main Street.

Supplies needed are book bags, notebook paper and composition notebooks (wide ruled and college ruled), journal composition notebooks, pencil boxes and pencil pouches, crayons, glue sticks, glue bottles, scissors, one and three inch binders, pencils and erasers (cap and pink pearl).

The book bags with supplies will be distributed on Saturday, August 12, 2017 from 9:00 A.M. – 11:00 A.M. at Benson Parks and Recreation located at 1204 N. Johnson Street, Benson.

If you are a parent wanting to pick up school supplies on August 12th, you will need to bring proof of residency which can be a driver’s license, rent or light bill.  Each family who receives supplies must present themselves at the event.  You may not collect for neighbors or anyone outside your household.
