Bud Light beer and Newport cigarettes were the only items thieves took after breaking into a Smithfield convenience store.
Around 5:00am Sunday, police discovered a break-in at the GT Mart at 214 Wilson’s Mills Road. The suspect used a rock to shatter the front door window. Once inside they stole $20 worth of beer and $20 worth of cigarettes before fleeing.
Smithfield Police Chief Keith Powell said officers do not have any suspects but the business break-in remains under investigation.
