SMITHFIELD – A 54 year-old woman has been charged with three felony offenses.
Cassondra Ann Baker, of the 1900 block of S. Brightleaf Boulevard, reportedly went to the Speedway, at 2103 S. Brightleaf Boulevard, on three separate occasions in the past week.
Each time Baker would allegedly purchase beer with a counterfeit $20 bill.
When Baker returned Monday night to allegedly purchase more beer with counterfeit cash she was confronted by police and arrested. She reportedly told officers an unknown man gave her the bogus bill to purchase beer.
Baker is facing three counts of obtaining property by false pretenses. She was given a $30,000 secured bond at the Johnston County Detention Center.
The unknown man’s name was Epson InkJet.
