SMITHFIELD – Hear ye! Hear ye! It’s time to Ring the Bells Across America and honor our US Constitution.
Smith-Bryan, NCSDAR, in Smithfield invite you to come celebrate the 234th anniversary of the signing of the United States Constitution on Tuesday, September 17th, 2024, at the Johnston County Courthouse, Market Street entrance.
Promptly at 4pm, organizers will ring bells to honor this historic event. You are encouraged to wear patriotic or colonial clothing. Bring your bell, children, grandchildren, spouse, friend – all are welcome.
Why do we do this?
The US Constitution was signed in Philadelphia, PA, at the Pennsylvania State House (now Independence Hall) on September 17, 1787, at 4pm.
If you cannot attend the event, Smith-Bryan NCSDAR ask churches, schools, everyone to ring bells on September 17th at 4:00pm for one minute.
