The shooting of a Harnett County man, while at a home in Johnston County, is under investigation. Johnston County deputies responded to the scene of a reported shooting around 2:30 AM Saturday in the 5300 block of Meadowbrook Road in the Meadow community.
The 40 year-old victim, who is from Erwin, had left the scene when deputies arrived but turned up a short time later at Betsy Johnson Hospital to seek medical treatment.
Deputies said the incident apparently following a dispute with a Benson man, who was questioned and released. As of Monday, no charges had been filed but the incident was still under investigation by sheriff’s deputies.
