The Town of Benson has a new mayor. Jerry M. Medlin soundly defeated Tracy L. Johnson for the top elected post in Benson on Tuesday.
In unofficial results, Medlin received 396 votes more than double the 188 votes received by Johnson.
Incumbent Mayor William Massengill did not seek reelection this year.
