Benson Home Destroyed By Fire

ATF Assisting Local Fire Investigators

A fire gutted a Benson home early this morning (Monday).  Fire crews from Johnston and Harnett counties responded to the 1:40am alarm at 205 East King Circle.

Firemen found the home completely engulfed in flames.  Donnetta Johnson was living in the home at the time but was away from her residence when the fire broke out.

The Benson, Four Oaks, Elevation and Dunn Fire Departments responded to the scene. Johnston County EMS, Benson Police and the Johnston County Fire Marshal’s Office also responded.

Fire Marshal Adam Stanley said his department and Benson Police are being assisted by federal ATF investigators in trying to pinpoint the exact cause.  The home, valued at $80,000, was deemed a complete loss.
