BENSON – A 64 year-old man was arrested during a traffic stop. On December 23 around 1:17am, a Johnston County deputy on routine patrol stopped a vehicle for a registration violation on NC 50 about five miles south of Benson.
The driver, identified as Harvey Eugene Booth Jr. of Woods Crossroads Road, Benson was arrested after the deputy reportedly located a small amount of suspected methamphetamine.
Booth was charged with felony possession of methamphetamine and held under a $6,500 secured bond.
