Benson Man Killed In Shooting

LILLINGTON – A 31 year-old Benson man was killed and another person injured Saturday afternoon in Harnett County.

Sheriff Wayne Coats said the incident happened around 4:00pm at 15 Cater Lane near Lillington. Deputies arrived on the scene to find two people had been shot. One victim, Montice Williams of Benson, was pronounced dead at the scene. A second person was transported to an area hospital. Their name and condition was not released.

Authorities are treating the incident as a homicide.
