Benson Man Robbed In Smithfield

SMITHFIELD – Detectives are investigating the robbery of a 22 year-old Benson man. The victim said he was with a female at a home on Blount Street in Smithfield just before 4:00pm Sunday.

A group of individuals allegedly entered the home. The victim, who was armed with a gun, told police the suspects took his firearm then assaulted him, causing a severe laceration.

The suspects reportedly fled with the victim’s gun and undisclosed amount of money.

The victim was treated and released at Johnston Health in Smithfield.
