On Saturday afternoon just after 2pm, Benson Police responded to the Gaines Mobile Home Park along the 1300 block of Chicopee Road in response to a reported shooting.
Officers arrived on scene and found Earl Chisholm had been shot in the lower back.
While at the home, it was determined a family dispute led to the shooting incident.
Mr. Chisholm was transported to WakeMed Hospital in Raleigh for non-life threatening injuries.
No arrests have been made but the investigation is still ongoing.
