The Town of Benson turned out to salute local Veterans on Saturday.
The event began in the Singing Grove at Noon with Benson Town Manager Matt Zapp and American Legion Post Incoming Commander Dennis Eason performing the opening ceremony, thanking Veterans for their service.
A number of local and county dignitaries were on hand including US Congressman David Rouzer.
A parade headed down Main Street, with floats, beauty queens, fire engines and more waving at attendees. Visitors also took advantage of free health screenings and the free lunch served after the event.
