Benson Sisters Raise $1,100 For Ronald McDonald House

Madelyn and Saylor-Claire, the children of Ericka and Corby Herring of Benson, recently raised $1,100 for The Ronald McDonald House. They presented a check to the executive director of the RMH of Durham, Mr. Oie Osterkamp on June 23. They were accompanied by Mrs. Pamela Hester, the state director of the NC Outstanding Little Miss program.

Madelyn and Saylor-Claire are the reining NC Outstanding Mini Majestic and NC Outstanding Petite Miss. The organization raises money for the Ronald McDonald House each year through numerous community services projects.

The donation will allow five families to stay at no cost for 110 days at the house. The sisters held fundraisers over the last several months to raise money for this charity. They also wanted to thank everyone who contributed.

The Ronald McDonald House provides a place for families to call home so they can stay close to their hospitalized child at little to no cost.
