Benson’s Run For The Brave 5K / Veterans Day Celebration Nov. 6th

The Town of Benson has a BIG day planned for November 6, 2021.

Benson loves to honor veterans, so a few years back Benson Parks & Recreation decided to update the Healthy Harvest Festival and make it more veteran-focused for the holiday.

The Town integrates veterans into every aspect of the day — from handing out medals to the 5K winners to a special ceremony in the Singing Grove after the race. Proceeds from the 5K will also go to support local veterans organizations.

The Run for the Brave 5K is set to begin at 9:00am on Saturday, November 6 with the awards ceremony following at 10:30am on the patio of the Fainting Goat Brewing Company.

You can sign up online here or you can sign up the morning of the race from 7:45am to 8:45am at T-N-T Fitness.

Following the 5K, a Veterans Day parade will be held from the Railroad Street area to the Singing Grove at 11:00am. After the parade, make your way to the Singing Grove for a special ceremony plus free hot dogs, chips, and drinks for everyone.

This year’s ceremony will feature special music from Carly Rae Johnson and Scott Johnson as well as a guest speaker Colonel Cronin Byrd, USAF, Retired among others.
